STRINGER’S WALKOFF SECURES FIRST WICHITA WIN

Wichita 3, Lincoln 2 – Box Christian Stringer’s (pictured) walkoff single scored Harrison Kain in the bottom of the ninth to seal the Wichita Wingnuts’ 3-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. The win was the first of the season for Wichita. Wingnuts’ starter Tim Brown had an excellent outing going eight innings, holding the Saltdogs to just two runs on five hits as reliever Frankie Reed earned the win out the bullpen. Lincoln jumped out to an early lead in the second inning scoring two runs. In the game, each team had six hits. Saltdogs’ C Ryan Wiggins was 1-for-2 in the game with a double and two RBI. Sioux Falls 10, Sioux City 6 – Box The Sioux Falls Canaries won their third game in a row defeating the Sioux City Explorers 10-6. Canaries’ 1B David Bergin led the offense at the plate going 4-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored. Reliever Kris Regas earned the win out of the bullpen recording a scoreless inning in the seventh.
