Lincoln 4, Gary SouthShore 3 – Box Score The Lincoln Saltdogs held off the Gary SouthShore RailCats 4-3 after a wild ninth inning on Monday night. Lincoln led 2-1 heading into the final frame thanks to SS Ivan Marin’s (2-for-4) two RBI single in the fifth inning. The RailCats first run also came in the fifth when RF D.K. Carey singled home CF Reggie Wilson. In the ninth, 2B Cesar Valera singled to center field to push LF Brandon Jacobs across the plate and later in the frame, Valera scored when 3B Christian Ibarra singled. But the RailCats surged in the bottom of the ninth. Pinch hitter Randy Santiesteban lifted a sac fly to scored DH Wilfredo Gimenez and 2B Cole Fabio did the same in the next at-bat to score SS Andy DeJesus (3-for-4) and pull within a run. Wilson drew a walk in the next at-bat but Carey flew out to right to end the game in ensuing at-bat.
