Lincoln 1, Sioux Falls 0 (11 Innings) – Box Third baseman Tommy Mendonca’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th inning plated LF Brandon Jacobs from third base and gave the Lincoln Saltdogs an 1-0 walk-off win over the Sioux Falls Canaries. This contest was a pitcher’s duel between the two starters, Sioux Falls’ Grady Wood and Lincoln’s Carlos Pimentel. Wood went eight solid innings allowing only four hits while striking out 13 batters in 104 pitches. Pimentel, on the other hand, threw eight terrific innings giving up the only hit for the Canaries and two walks while fanning 12 hitters. Neither Wood nor Pimentel factored into the decision and was left up to the prospective bullpens. Saltdogs reliever J.R. Bunda tossed a scoreless 11th inning to pick-up the victory and improve his record to 3-0 on the season. St. Paul 10, Texas 0 – Box The St. Paul Saints jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings of play and would cruise from there to a 10-0 victory over the Texas AirHogs.
