RAILROADERS WALK-OFF IN 14-HOUR MARATHON

Cleburne 4, Chicago 3- Box Score The Cleburne Railroaders (19-33) won a 14-inning game against the Chicago Dogs (20-33) in walk-off fashion on Sunday by a score of 4-3. Railroaders’ Angel Rosa scored the game’s first run with a solo home run (7) in the bottom of the third. Later in the inning, Patrick Palmeiro drove in Chase Simpson with an RBI double. The Dogs cut the lead to one on a Matt Dean RBI single in the top of the fifth. Dean tied the game with an RBI double in the seventh and gave Chicago a lead by scoring two batters later on an RBI single by Kenny Wilson. The Dogs held the lead until the bottom of the ninth when Cleburne scored on a two-out error to tie the game. The game remained tied until Palmeiro hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourteenth inning to give the Railroaders the win. Chicago used seven pitchers in the loss, Cleburne used just three. Railroaders’ starter Patrcick Mincey gave up just one earned run in six innings, but didn’t factor in the decision.
