Gary Southshore 6, Sioux Falls 5 (Final – 10 innings) – Box The Railcats topped the Canaries on Thursday night after holding off a late, ninth-inning surge from the Sioux Falls ball club, the Railcats won in extra innings. The Railcats took a 3-0 lead in the first after a RBI double from 3B Kris Goodman that was followed by a two-run error. The Canaries countered with a blow of their own, as they scored once in the bottom half of the inning. The Railcats scored runs in the fourth and fifth inning to make it a four-run game, but the Canaries made it interesting late. After scoring once in the seventh, the Canaries scored twice in the ninth to make it a one-run game. The game headed to extras and LF Reggie Wilson proved to be the hero for the Railcats, as he connected on a RBI single to give his club the lead and the eventual win. RHP Drasen Johnson picked up the win, after allowing three runs (one earned) in the ninth.
