Gary SouthShore 9, Cleburne 7 – Box Score The Gary SouthShore RailCats (26-38) edged the Cleburne Railroaders 9-7 to claim the series on Wednesday evening. The Railroaders were leading 7-2 after four innings but the RailCats rallied for six runs in the fifth to move in front. In the fifth, Gary SouthShore loaded up the bases and the next six batters all reached base to push across a run; 3B Hayden Schilling (single), C Jackson Smith (walk), 2B Jose Mercado (hit by pitch), LF Jesus Marriaga (fielder’s choice), CF Billy Cooke (single) and M.J. Rookard (single) all perpetuated the rally. Rookard (4-for-6) also scored on a wild pitch in the seventh to add an insurance run. Cooke and Schilling each had three hits in the game. For the Railroaders, CF Zach Nehrir went 4-for-5 with an RBI and 1B Ramon Hernandez went 3-for-5 with his 16th home run of 2021.…
