RAILCATS RALLY LATE FOR NARROW WIN

Gary SouthShore 6, Sioux Falls 5 – Box Score The Gary SouthShore RailCats (4-4) rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come back and top the Sioux Falls Canaries 6-5. The RailCats were trailing 5-2 heading into the bottom of the eighth and after RF Colin Willis reached with a leadoff single, the next two batters went down in order to put the rally in jeopardy. CF Evan Marzilli started the two-out surge with a double to center that plated Willis and then scored himself in the next at bat when SS Marcus Mooney singled. Mooney scored the tying run when 2B Andy DeJesus drew a bases-loaded walk and then 3B Thomas Walraven scored the eventual game winning run when 1B Randy Santiesteban drew another bases-loaded walk one batter later. For the game, DeJesus, Willis, Marzilli and DH John Price Jr. each had two hits.…
