Gary SouthShore 14, Salina 1 (Game One of Doubleheader- 9 innings)- Box The RailCats scored in six of their eight offensive half innings and pounded out 16 hits en route to a 14-1 win over the Stockade at U.S. Steel Yard in game one of a day-night doubleheader on Thursday. C Jose Gonzalez, making his season debut with the RailCats, hit a two-RBI triple as part of a four-run first. Gary SouthShore broke the game open with a six-run eighth, highlighted by DH Cameron Newell’s two-run homer and 1B Kris Goodman’s three-run blast. 2B Andy DeJesus had a team-high four hits in the win, while Goodman and Gonzalez led the team with three RBI each. RHP Charle Rosario struck out four over seven innings to earn the win. Salina CF Roche Woodard hit a solo home run in the loss.
