MAY 29 AFTERNOON RECAPS Gary SouthShore 7, Joplin 6- Box The RailCats scored all seven runs in the first five innings and withstood a Blasters rally to take a 7-6 win at US Steel Yard on Sunday afternoon. Four RailCats had two-hit games – RF Masato Fukae, 3B Jose Sermo, 2B Elbert Devarie and SS Jarred Mederos. Additionally, DH Brennan Metzger drove in two for the RailCats. RHP Karl Triana kept the Blasters at bay over six innings, striking out seven while scattering six hits and a walk. RHP Alex Gunn worked 1.1 innings to close out the game for Gary SouthShore, picking up the save. Joplin was buoyed by LF Willie Cabrera, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI. Wichita 14, Fargo-Moorhead 4- Box A pair of five-run innings propelled the Wingnuts to a 14-4 victory over the RedHawks on Sunday afternoon. CF Harrison Kain recorded a two-RBI single in the five-run fourth, and drove in another run by drawing a hit by pitch in the five-run eighth.
