Gary SouthShore 3, Joplin 0- Box Three RailCats pitchers — RHP Ayron Costa, RHP Santiago Rodriguez, and RHP Jorge De Leon — allowed just three hits to blank the Blasters 3-0 and keep Gary SouthShore’s playoff hopes alive. Costa tossed 5.1 innings, giving up a hit and walk, and struck out one batter to earn the win. Rodriguez followed with 1.2 scoreless innings, and De Leon fanned four over two innings to pick up the save. Offensively, CF Chase Harris scored on an error in the first, and 2B John Holland hit an RBI single in the second to push the lead to 2-0. Holland drove in the third run as well, a sacrifice fly in the seventh. 3B Kris Goodman and SS Jarred Mederos each had two hits for the RailCats. For Joplin, RF Cie Arell was 2-for-3. Lincoln 5, St. Paul 2- Box The Saltdogs, chasing a playoff berth, took a much-needed 5-2 victory over the Saints. With the game tied 2-2 in the seventh, 3B Juan Martinez put the Saltdogs ahead for good with an RBI single.
