NUNN MOVES FROM SAINTS TO TEXAS RANGERS

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The St. Paul Saints have sold the contract of LHP Chris Nunn to the Texas Rangers organization, the American Association announced. Nunn is the eighth player from the American Association to have his contract sold in 2019, and the 28th player since the start of the 2018 season. Nunn was 7-3 with a 3.05 ERA in eleven starts for the Saints in 2018. In 59.0 innings pitched, he allowed 26 runs (20 earned) on 59 hits. Nunn struck out 49 batters and walked just 13. He joined the Saints after pitching at both Triple-A Fresno and Double-A Corpus Christi in the Houston Astros organization earlier in the summer. Nunn was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2012 draft out of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. He spend the 2012-2015 seasons in the Padres chain and reached Double-A with San Antonio in 2015. After sitting out 2016, he pitched in the Chicago Cubs organization and with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League before latching on with the Astros for 2018.
