The Monarchs scored as many runs in the first inning as they did in the entire game yesterday when Gabby Guerrero singled home Darnell Sweeney. After Kansas City slugger Casey Gillaspie reached on a single, Solter wriggled free from more damage when Colin Willis grounded into an odd 3-6-1 double play. The Milkmen put Logan Trowbridge and Adam Brett Walker II in scoring position in the bottom of the first as they tried to mount a response, but Kansas City starter Nick Travieso struck out Aaron Hill to end the inning.
