CLEBURNE, Tex. (June 4, 2021) – The Kansas City Monarchs scored five runs over the final two innings to defeat the Cleburne Railroaders 7-1 on Friday night at The Depot at Cleburne Station. The game began as a pitcher’s duel between Cleburne starter Austin Fairchild (0-2) and Kansas City left-hander Eric Stout (2-1), who traded zeroes through five frames. The Monarchs (6-8) broke the ice in the top of the sixth, as Johnny Field drilled an RBI double and came around to score on a run-scoring single from Jan Hernandez for a 2-0 Monarchs lead. Tyler Ryan got Cleburne (7-9) back within a run on a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth, his second home run in as many nights. That would prove to be the only damage done against Stout, who fired six strong innings with seven strikeouts to pick up his second victory against the Railroaders…
