KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Aug. 5, 2021) – Alexis Olmeda hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Kansas City Monarchs rallied for a 9-6 win over the Cleburne Railroaders on Thursday night at Legends Field. The Railroaders (39-31) led 6-4 going into the seventh, and Michael Krauza (1-1) retired the first two Kansas City hitters he faced to start the inning. But Will Kengor doubled and Drew Ferguson walked to set the stage for Olmeda, who drove a 1-1 pitch over the wall in right-center to give Kansas City (47-24) a 7-6 lead.The Monarchs added one more in the inning on an infield single from Morgan McCullough, and then tacked on an insurance run in the eighth for the final margin.Cleburne fell into a quick 4-0 hole in the second inning, but rallied with a four-spot of their own in the fourth.
