FARGO, ND- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Lincoln Saltdogs’ SS Christian Ibarra (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 3. To say Ibarra had a good week would be an understatement. Over the past seven days, Ibarra batted .462, collected 12 hits, brought his hitting streak to 10, walked eight times, scored 11 runs, drove in six runs, while slugging a double and a home run. Currently, Ibarra is third in the league with a .394 average. The Louisiana State product began his professional career in the American Association with the now defunct Amarillo Thunderheads in 2015. After one season in the AA, Ibarra had his contract puchased by the Minnnesota Twins. In 2016, Ibarra played part of the season in the Twins’ system before signing with Lincoln, who he has been with ever since.
