Winnipeg 16, St. Paul 5- Box Score The Winnipeg Goldeyes’ offense exploded in a 16-5 win over the St. Paul Saints on Thursday. The Goldeyes collected 16 hits and walked eight times in the contest. Dave Sappelt (1), Josh Romanski (1) and Josh Mazzola (6) all clubbed home runs for Winnipeg. Alex Boshers (2-3) was awarded the win after limiting the Saints to five runs in 7.1 innings of work. Brady Shoemaker went 4-for-4 at the plate for St. Paul while scoring two runs. With the win, Winnipeg improved to 17-15 over while the Saints fell to 19-13. Wichita 3, Sioux Falls 2- Box Score The Wichita Wingnuts topped the Sioux Falls Canaries 3-2 on Thursday. Both teams scored in the first inning, the Canaries scored on an RBI single by David Bergin in the top of the frame and the Wingnuts scored on a sacrifice fly by Tony Thomas in the bottom of the frame. Wichita took a lead in the the next inning with RBI single by Logan Watkins to score Logan Trowbridge who reached on an error to start the inning.
