GEORGE BECOMES SECOND T-BONES’ PLAYER TO BE PURCHASED WEDNESDAY

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Kansas City T-Bones have sold the contract of OF Jordan George to the Kansas City Royals’ organization, the American Association announced Wednesday, July 31. George is the 35th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019. George signed with the T-Bones on July 30. In one game with the club, George went 2-for-5 at the plate, striking out once. The 27-year-old joins RHP Brian Ellington as the second Kansas City player sold to a major league organization on Wednesday. George began his professional career in 2015 after being drafted in the 35th round of the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. George spent four seasons in the Pirates’ organization, reaching Double-A in 2018. The switch hitter began 2019 in High-A with the Chicago White Sox organization before making a quick stop with the T-Bones.
