Kansas City 5, Gary Southshore 3- Box Score The Kansas City T-Bones edged the Gary Southshore Railcats by a score of 5-3, breaking a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the seventh. Zach Walters drove in the game’s first run for the T-Bones in the bottom of the first with a double. Three batters later, Dexter Kjerstad drove in Walters with a ground rule double. The Railcats scored one in the second to cut the deficit in half, but the T-Bone made it a two run game again in the following frame with an RBI single by Dylan Tice. Gary scored one in the fifth before tying the game in the seventh. However, Nick Torres drove in Keith Curcio for the go-ahead run in the following frame and later scored on Dexter Kjerstad single to bring the game to its final tally. Reliever Barrett Astin was awarded the win in his first appearance for Kansas City.
