‘DOGS CAN’T FINISH OFF SWEEP OF APOLLOS

LINCOLN, Nebraska – Curt Smith went 3-for-5 with a double and the game-tying run scored in the 9th inning, but the ‘Dogs allowed four runs in the 10th inning in a 9-5 loss to the Houston Apollos at Haymarket Park on Thursday night. BOX SCORE Smith scored on David Vidal’s game-tying RBI single with two outs in the 9th, but the Apollos scored four runs on two hits and two errors in the 10th and snapped Lincoln’s four-game winning streak. Lincoln (37-33) took a three-run lead in the 2nd inning on two errors and Forrestt Allday’s solo homer, while Houston (10-60) got two back on a solo homer and an RBI single in the 3rd. Josh Altmann hit his 21st homer of the year to begin the bottom of the 3rd, but the Apollos got a run back on Hudson Bilodeau’s sacrifice fly in the 5th and tied on game…
