DARVILL HITS WALK-OFF, THREE-RUN SHOT FOR GOLDEYES

Winnipeg 5, St. Paul 3 — Box Score 3B Wes Darvill blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Winnipeg Goldeyes a 5-3 walk-off win against the St. Paul Saints. The Goldeyes entered the bottom of the ninth inning trailing 3-1 but 1B Shawn Pleffner singled home LF Josh Romanski to cut into that deficit. After DH David Bergin struck out, Darvill belted out his third roundtripper of the season to end the game in dramatic fashion. CF Reggie Abercrombie was the only Goldeye to have more than one hit as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. For the Saints, LF Anthony Gallas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. He scored twice in the game and 2B Tony Thomas, who was 1-for-4, scored the Saints’ other run.
