CURCIO LATEST T-BONE PLAYER MOVING UP AS RED SOX PURCHASE CONTRACT

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Boston Red Sox have purchased the contract of OF Keith Curcio from the Kansas City T-Bones, the American Association announced. Curcio is the 24th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2018. (Photo Credit: Kansas City T-Bones) Curcio was a stalwart in the T-Bones line-up all season long, as he batted .306 with 22 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 57 RBIs and 57 runs scored in 94 games. Curcio stole 20 bases and posted a .831 OPS for the season. In nine playoff games, Cucio batted .286 with one double, one home run and four runs scored to help Kansas City to the American Association championship. Curcio signed with the T-Bones in 2018 after spending four seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization. The Braves originally selected Curcio in the sixth rounds of the 2014 draft out of Florida Southern College. He advanced to Double-A with the Braves and spent the entire 2017 season with Mississippi of the Southern League. Curcio is the tenth member of the T-Bones roster to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization since the start of the 2018 season.
