CUNNINGHAM’S DEBUT MONTH NETS PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

MOORHEAD, MN.- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Kansas City T-Bones’ OF Todd Cunningham has been named the league’s Rawlings Player of the Month for the month of June. Since joining the T-Bones on June 1, Cunningham has been the top hitter in the American Association. The Former Major Leaguer has reached base in every game but one with Kansas City on his way to grabbing the league’s lead in batting average (.455), on base percentage (.550) and slugging (.604). Cunningham ended the month with his best performance of the season, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored, two doubles, and an RBI in a June 30 7-4 win against the Cleburne Railroaders. The Jacksonville, Alabama native played in the Majors as recently as 2016 when he appeared in 20 games for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The former second round draft pick also had stints at the game’s top level in 2013 and 2015 with the team that drafted him in 2010, the Atlanta Braves.
