JULY 17 AFTERNOON RECAPS Wichita 15, Sioux Falls 5- Box The Wingnuts slugged their way past the Canaries by a 15-5 score at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. 3B Zack Cox had a huge day for the Wingnuts, hitting for the cycle and going 4-for-5 with five RBI. Cox began with an RBI double in the third, part of a two-run inning for the Wingnuts. Wichita scored again in the fifth, when 2B Christian Stringer hit an RBI single and scored himself on a two-run home run by Cox. Four more runs scored in the sixth, including a two-RBI triple from Cox, leaving him just a single shy of the cycle. Cox had the opportunity to lead off the eighth inning, and immediately collected a single to complete the cycle. That single would set the table for a six-run frame to put the game out of reach. C Martin Medina drove in two on a two-RBI triple, and SS Leo Vargas also drove home a pair on a two-RBI double. Vargas joined Cox with a 4-for-5 game.
