Kane County 5, Gary SouthShore 4 – Box Score The Kane County Cougars (18-21) walked off on the Gary SouthShore RailCats 5-4 in the first game of their series. The RailCats had a 4-3 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning but the Cougars quickly loaded up the bases to threaten that lead. DH Mark Karaviotis was hit by a pitch to push CF Anfernee Seymour across and tie the score. RF Mitch Reeves singled in the next at-bat to score pinch runner Brandon Chinea and end the game. The Cougars scored their other three runs in the third when 3B Gavin LaValley drew a bases-loaded walk and 1B Kacy Clemens singled to plate Seymore and SS Nick Santoro.
