CANARIES MOVE INTO PLAYOFF SPOT WITH BIG WIN

Sioux Falls 12, St. Paul 4 – Box Score The Sioux Falls Canaries moved into second place in the standings on Friday night with a 12-4 win against the St. Paul Saints. The Canaries got started right away with three runs in the top of the first inning as 2B Alay Lago (2-for-5) hit an RBI fielder’s choice and scored with SS Andrew Ely when C Roy Morales (4-for-4) singled later in the inning. Though the Saints scored two runs in the third, the Canaries never trailed as Morales hit a lead-off homer in the fourth and RF Clint Coulter added an RBI single. Sioux Falls added four more runs in the eighth as 3B Damek Tomscha tripled home a pair of runs and Lago hit a two-run homer in the next at-bat. LF Mike Hart scored the final run of the day in the ninth on a wild pitch.…
