(Photo Via Erin Bormett/Sioux Falls Canaries) MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Sioux Falls Canaries have sold the contract of C Adrian Nieto to the Miami Marlins’ organization, the American Association announced Friday, June 22. Nieto is the 28th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019. Nieto signed with the Canaries on March 19 after spending 2018 with the Kansas City T-Bones. The 29-year-old former major leaguer was hitting .269 on the season with four home runs and 24 RBIs for Sioux Falls. Nieto helped deliver the T-Bones an American Association championship in 2018, putting together a postseason average of .313 with two home runs and five RBIs while catching all nine postseason games.
