CLEBURNE, Texas (March 26, 2021) – The Cleburne Railroaders announced Friday the signing of right-handed pitcher Michael Mariot. Mariot pitched in the majors from 2014-16, first with the Kansas City Royals and later with the Philadelphia Phillies. He owns a 2-0 record with a 5.98 ERA and two saves at the Major League level, having pitched in 44 games out of the bullpen. Born in West Hills, California and now residing in Flower Mound, Texas, Mariot made his MLB debut with the Royals on April 11, 2014. His first strikeout came against Minnesota Twins All-Star catcher Joe Mauer, one of 21 strikeouts for the right-hander over 25.0 innings that season. Mariot’s best outing came later that month, as he fired 3.2 scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts against the Cleveland Indians.
