Two pieces of news came out this week from Godfather Media, the parent company which intends to operate the American West Baseball League next year. One announces the agreement between the league and DC Sports and Entertainment, LLC for the rights to field a team in Long Beach, California. The other is an agreement between the league and James Hoynes of San Diego for the rights to field a team in the San Diego area.
Should all of these teams become realities next year then the AWBL would have at least 4 teams: Yuma Panthers, Orange County Flyers, Long Beach, and San Diego.
