Here is the update on the professional independent baseball leagues playoffs for the 2012 regular season, as of the morning of Sept. 7:
American Association
- The Winnipeg Goldeyes lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 2-0 in the best-of-5 divisional series. Game 3 will be played tonight in Winnipeg
- The Wichita Wingnuts lead the Laredo Lemurs 2-0 in the best-of-5 divisional series. Game 3 will be played tonight in Wichita
Atlantic League
- The regular season is still going. It will end on Sept. 23, after which the playoffs start
Can-Am League
- The Quebec Capitales and New Jersey Jackals are tied 1-1 in the best-of-5 series for the Can-Am League championship. Game 3 will be held in the Jackals’ stadium tonight (Friday, Sept. 7)
Frontier League
- The Southern Illinois Miners have a 2-0 lead against the Traverse City Beach Bums in the best-of-5 series. Game 3 will be at Southern Illinois’ stadium on Saturday night
- The Gateway Grizzlies and the Florence Freedom are tied 1-1 in the best-of-5 series. Game 3 will be at Florence’s stadium on Saturday night
North American League
- San Rafael Pacifics won the Northern Division championship
- Fort Worth Cats will host the Edinburg Roadrunners tonight for Game 1 of the United League (Southern) division championship. It is a best-of-5 series with Fort Worth hosting the first two games, and the remaining games to be played in Edinburg
Pecos League
- Alpine Cowboys won the 2012 Pecos League championship in August
