United League Renames 4th Team To Brownsville Charros

The fourth team scheduled for the United League Baseball 2014 regular season is the Brownsville Charros, a name change from the previous version announced a few weeks ago.  The team still will be a neutral site/travel team.  Here is more on the name change:

The new website is still under construction, but the link will be:

Social media accounts are not yet created for the team, but they will be available through the team’s website.

The Charros are one of two neutral site/travel teams scheduled to begin the season across the independent baseball landscape in 2014.  The other is the Frontier Greys of the Frontier League.  Some may consider the Ohio Travelers (part of the Independent Baseball League) to be the 3rd travel team, so should the IBL make some strides to be on par with the other leagues then the league (and its teams) will get more coverage.

  1. That’s better, and works for me. Hopefully opens up some nice uni options also, though I suppose they will go easy on that for starters. Brownsville has always been on the edge of having a franchise, once wrapped a ballpark designed as part of a whole multiplex. But I don’t think it got off the drawing board. Maybe you can find the latest on that, and see if Bville has any interest yet in hosting a pro franchise. Would seem to work there!
