At the end of the 2010 independent baseball season, there were 4 parties vying to get Amarillo as a member of their respective leagues for 2011. These included the United League (which had the Amarillo Dillas in 2010), the American Association, the Pecos League, and an unnamed party who had ties previously to the stadium prior to the Dillas. One of the big concerns, despite such a desirable market, was the quality of the stadium.
Over the years there has been speculation on a new stadium being constructed, but not much has happened. Recently, an article came out indicating that there may be a shift in the approach by the city toward a new stadium. This information in speculative, but an indication that something may be on the horizon:

See if you can get a scoop from Miles Wolff, Bill Lee, and Frank Bolton about expansion for next season. We can wait (have to!) on the others. But these guys usually have the next season planned before the present one ends.
