Roger Clemens returned to professional baseball last night, pitching 3-1/3 innings for the Sugar Land Skeeters (Atlantic League). He threw 37 pitches, gave up 1 hit, threw 2 strikeouts, and gave up no runs (earned or unearned). He started the game but did not earn the win as the Skeeters defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 1-0. Michael Nix earned the victory, relieving Clemens in the 4th inning.
The game was televised live on ESPN Classic and ESPN 3 last night.
More to come on this subject, but it was deemed a relatively successful night for the Atlantic League and independent baseball in terms of viewership and how things turned out considering the circumstances.
