LaGrave Reconstruction Co., the company owned by Carl Bell (who recently sold the Fort Worth Cats team), filed for bankruptcy protection yesterday. Presumably this was done to prevent LaGrave Field, where the Cats play, to be auctioned off in a foreclosure process.
The team was sold recently to a group headed by Mike Stone, John Bryant, and Byron Pierce. The latter two ran United League Baseball which played through 2010, before aligning with the Golden League and the Lake County Fielders (formerly of the Northern League) to form the 2011 North American League.
At this time, there is no official word on the status of the stadium in regards to the Cats, who now are scheduled to play in the 2012 North American League. Presumably, the Cats will play in LaGrave Field for their 2012 NAL home games; but if this changes it will be posted on this site.
