Possible New Pacific Association City

The city of Pittsburg, California may be the home of a new Pacific Association team this year.  It came out recently that the city council will be hearing a proposal for the team and upward of $350,000 in field renovations to get the facility up to par for professional baseball.

The Pacific Association’s website doesn’t have anything posted yet on this, nor does the league’s Facebook page.  Here is the news article coming out of the San Jose area:

Should this be confirmed then it will be added to the website.

  1. Sounds like it’ll fly to me! Great interest and backing from a dude who was in the show, and we’ll know how things are supposed to look. Reduced travel and accommodations problem here should be much more viable than flying to Maui. The Hawaii guys should look to strengthen themselves first with four teams on the islands, instead of trying to hook up with Japan. Why create headaches until you have a firm base of operations. They should still be able to field good squads there. Who would not want to spend the summer playing ball in Hawaii?? Even some good players from the Far East and a few standouts from the Pacific Islands should do well. Anybody on the Fuji Rugby teams play cricket? Not that hard to switch to baseball!

If the Pacific can get five teams, then maybe a travel team could be added, or TWO teams playing at the best site…if residents don’t mind activity being at the ball park nearly every night in the summer. Keep kids busy!

  2. Did the Mettle drop out of the Pacific Association? Pointstreak gives no record of them having played this week. What’s the scoop on this?
