In the past few days, the North American League has surfaced in news reagarding proposed new stadiums. First, the new (returning) owners of the Abilene Prairie Dogs discussed the possibility of a new privately-funded stadium in Abilene within 2 years:
Also of interest in the article is that Mike Babcock, currently the GM of the San Angelo Colts, also will be the GM for the Prairie Dogs team for time being.
Next, an article out of Prescott Arizona discussed the NAL’s desire to house a potential team in Arizona as early as this season, although likely in 2013:
The article quotes Mark Peterson, who is the managing director of a firm which matches investors with sports teams. He has no comment on the financing needs for upgrades to the current stadium or a new stadium. He also discussed looking at other Arizona locations for a possible team.
Should any news on either of these be confirmed then it will be posted on this site.
