More News Out Of Amarillo

This week it was announced that the Potter County (Texas) Commissioners, who handle the lease for the city of Amarillo, awarded Southern Independent Baseball the right to negotiate a lease for Potter County Stadium.  The stadium was the home of the 2010 Amarillo Dillas of the United League.

What is of interest is the amount of bids from the other interested parties for the rights to the Amarillo market:

The owners of the Dillas entity, Reunion Sports Group, are still going to be in mediation with Potter County as they contend that they were not given ample time to handle the lease issue.  The parties meet on November 12.

Therefore, while Southern Independent Baseball (which owns the Shreveport-Bossier Captains in the American Association) appears to be the front-runner for the 2011 team, nothing is official.  Once there is official word then it will be posted on this site.
