The Newark Bears (Can-Am League) play at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, New Jersey. A recent article came out from Newark about a territorial dispute between the New York Yankees and the Mets over giving the Yankees Triple-A team a one-year lease at Riverfront Stadium in order to do stadium renovations to their current stadium in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
In recent weeks the Bears have made news with ownership changes, attendance challenges, and a new GM. Nonetheless, no mention of the Bears was made in the article; and there was no mention of the County Executive turning down the Yankees because the Bears, presumably, would be playing there for the 2012 season.
