Last week, the Joliet Slammers announced that Maury Wills will serve as a special instructor during spring training:
According to the article, he “will help instruct Slammers players on the art of bunting, baserunning and infield play during Spring Training.” Wills served in a similar role with the Fort Worth Cats a few years ago, and he was aligned with John Dittrich. John is the current GM for the Slammers and was team president for the Cats when Wills helped to instruct the players during spring training.
