One such example is an independent pro baseball open tryout which took place over the weekend in Santa Fe for the new 2012 Pecos League team, the Santa Fe Fuego:
An open tryout held at a time when snow was being removed from the field, and getting 29 prospective players to attend, shows the drive that some players have just to make a spring training roster.
