The Oakland County Cruisers played a significant amount of time in the 2010 Frontier League season as a travel team, and they “went dark” for the 2011 season pending stadium construction. During this “dark” period, the team was sold to new ownership (Summit Professional Baseball); and it appears that the new owners are looking at Clawson, Michigan as a possible new home for the team in 2012:
Should this be the case, then the Frontier League would need an additional team to reach 14 for the 2012 season. Whether the Kalamazoo Kings, who also went “dark”, ever come back or if a new team (or travel team) is included is still to be determined.
