It appears that this coming Friday, September 7, the Can-Am League will announce that it is going to expand into Trois-Rivieres (Quebec, Canada). This ends years of speculation about when a new independent professional team would come back to the area. The last time Trois-Rivieres had a professional independent baseball team was in 2003 with the old Canadian Baseball League. That league lasted part of one season, folding after their first season’s All-Star Game.

The first article, written in French, mentions that the ownership group may have Marc-André Bergeron, Eric Gagne, and Miles Wolff (Can-Am League Commissioner) as part of the ownership circuit. Once more on this situation becomes known then it will be posted on this site.
