Ballpark Digest reported the announced attendance figures for the 2012 professional independent baseball teams. The list does not include any figures for the Sonoma County Grapes (travel team in the NAL), the 6 teams in the Pecos League, and the Freedom Pro Baseball League. Also of note, the Na Koa Ikaika Maui and Hawaii Stars (both in the NAL Northern Division) did not have any attendance figures reported, even though they had attendance at their respective home games. Lastly, no attendance figures were reported for the Road Warriors travel/neutral site team which replaced the London Rippers in the Frontier League during the middle of the season.
Assume that no attendance figures from playoffs, championship, pre-season, mid-season exhibition, and resumed/continued games due to rain outs are part of the figures. Ballpark Digest did not include a combined total, but they reported the values in such a way that the reported figures were easy to tabulate. The total reported announced attendance figures for the 2012 regular season equaled 7,034,643. If you were to add the announced attendance figures from all of the games not reported, it likely would push the total announced attendance close to 7.5 million fans.
