With the Atlantic League’s intention to expand from its current 8 teams, several pieces of expansion news came out in recent days. First is that the longtime proposed Loudoun Hounds team finally received approval to build its stadium at the desired location. Next is that Virginia Beach has been granted the rights to have an expansion team; and the group which applied to the league for those rights is now pursuing financing for its desired stadium.

Insane not to establish themselves in Dover DE first. Active AFB, two colleges, a casino and racetrack looking for a family alternative, and rural folk who love baseball within two hours in every direction, including eastern MD. They cannot get to Bowie (Baysox), Salisbury (Shorebirds), or Wilmington (Blue Rocks) near as easily.
Has to be a spot in or near that downtown or near the air base and colleges to be able to draw from easily. Don’t get it. I would make that trip easily from northern Phila suburbs, same as I did the others plus Atlantic City, Camden, Somerset, and Lakewood.
Been the other way also…Lancaster, York and even Harrisburg.
