- Six independent leagues have players who were affiliated contracts after the conclusion of the 2012 season
- 21 players in total were signed after the regular season, 8 of which came from the American Association
- 5 of these started their pro careers in the independent leagues
- 28 players with independent experience are headed to Major League camps
