The Freedom Pro Baseball League has had some challenges during its first year in existence. While calling itself pro, its challenges have led some in the pro baseball media not to consider it “professional”. At IndependentBaseball.net, we want to give you as much of a gateway into the inner workings of independent baseball so, depending on your point of view, the league at least deserves some exposure since players are (reportedly) getting some form of a paycheck. Hopefully the league either thrives on its own or merges its best elements with other established pro leagues, as we want solid opportunities for players to become professional as well as other participants such as: umpires, front office staff, media personnel, broadcasters, PA announcers, etc.
