MINERS WALK-OFF AGAINST CHAMPIONS

Sussex County DH Juan Duran (pictured) and SS Jarred Mederos hit RBI singles in the bottom of the 10th inning to plate two runs and lift the Miners to a 7-6 walk-off victory over Ottawa. The Champions had a 5-3 lead after 7 ½ innings only to see Sussex County plate a run in the eighth and one more in the ninth to tie the contest at 5-5 and force extra innings. Ottawa DH Sebastien Boucher hit a solo home run in the top of the 10th to give the Champions a 6-5 advantage but that was short lived as the Miners scored two runs in the bottom of the frame and won the game.Elsewhere, Quebec beat Trois-Rivieres, 5-2 and Rockland downed New Jersey, 4-1.
