TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(30-47) won both games of today’s doubleheader over the Joliet Slammers(35-43), by two runs. The Bums took game one, 3-1, and game two, 6-4. Joliet got on the board first, after a scoreless first two innings, on an Edwin Gomez RBI single in the third. With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Alexis Rivera singled then moved to third on a Kendall Patrick double. Arby Fields then drove them both in with a two-run single to center, giving the Beach Bums a 2-1 lead. They added more in the fifth, starting with a Jeff DeBlieux single. He stole second, moved to third on an Orlando Rivera infield hit, then scored on a double play. Kramer Champlin moved back over .500 with the win, improving to 7-6. He went six innings and allowed a run on six hits and two walks while striking out three. Conrad Wozniak suffered the loss after giving up three runs on eight hits through five innings. He falls to 3-2. Matt Williams faced the minimum in the seventh for his second save of the season. Game two started in a similar way to game one with Joliet…
