July 30 Evening Recap Sioux Falls 3, Sioux City 0 (Game 2 – 7 Innings) – Box Sioux Falls starting pitcher Bo Hellquist and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Canaries downed Sioux City, 3-0 to gain a split in the doubleheader. Hellquist went the first five innings of the contest allowing only a walk and two hits to go with four strikeouts in a 58-pitch effort. The bullpen duo of James Jones and Jose Ortega each tossed a scoreless inning of relief and striking out a combined four batters. Hellquist earned his first victory while Ortega picked up his 14th save. Offensively for Sioux Falls, 2B Brett Marr and LF Ty Morrison both went 1-for-3 with a run scored. All three of the Canaries’ runs were scored in the fourth inning. Gary SouthShore 10, Texas 1 – Box The Gary SouthShore RailCats jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings of play and never looked back en route to a 10-1 victory over Texas.
