The Aigles topped the Miners on Friday afternoon to take the first game in their four-game series. After losing two straight games to the Jackals, the Aigles came out swinging, hitting two home runs in the victory. LF Javier Herrera hit his ninth home run of the season in the second to give the Aigles a 1-0 lead. The Aigles then took a 3-0 lead in the third before the Miners came storming back. The Miners took a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning via a two-run double followed by a RBI single. The Aigles tied it in the bottom half of the inning and in the eighth, DH Alexander Ayala (pictured) proved to be the hero. Ayala hit a solo blast that proved to be the game-winning run.Elsewhere, the Miners defeated the Aigles 9-3 in the second game of their doubleheader. The Champions defeated the Capitales 3-1 and the Jackals-Boulders game was postponed due to rain.
