July 9 Evening Recap Sioux Falls 2, Wichita 1 – Box Sioux Falls starting pitcher Grady Wood recorded another terrific performance in leading the Canaries to a 2-1 victory over Wichita in the final game of three-game series. Wood, who has made five consecutive quality starts, went eight strong innings allowing only an earned run on four hits and struck out seven batters in 96 pitches. The righty notched the win and is now 5-1 on the season. Offensively for Sioux Falls, the big hit of the game came in the third inning when RF Jabari Henry launched a two-home run to give the Canaries the lead at 2-1. For Wichita in the losing cause, 2B Christian Stringer accounted for their only run of the contest, a solo home run in the first inning. Salina 5, Texas 1 – Box The Salina Stockade scored three runs over the final two innings to open up a close game and defeat Texas by a 5-1 score.
